Business Analyst (EDI-Focused)

Location: Moorhead, Minnesota
The Business Analyst will serve as the vital link between business partners, program teams and external provider groups by supporting and ensuring the successful completion of analytical, building, testing and deployment tasks related to claims processing and EDI transactions. The Business Analyst will support both short and long-term business objectives by developing business requirements and/or data visualizations to support reporting needs. 

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Define and document configuration specifications and business analysis requirements
  • Gain strong knowledge of claims, provider, member, and medical management data across Employee & Individual, Medicare & Retirement, and Community & State lines of business
  • Define, produce, publish and distribute scheduled and ad-hoc stakeholder and operational reports, alerts, and analyses
  • Perform quality assurance by documenting, maintaining and continuously improving clinical data exchange processes
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities to discover issues and deliver better value to stakeholders
  • Own and develop relationship with partners, working with them to optimize and enhance clinical data integration
  • Communicate key insights and findings to stakeholders
  • Assist in audits and data quality improvement initiatives
  • Support comprehensive data reconciliations across all platforms
Required Qualifications:
  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree, certifications, and/or work experience equivalent
  • 4+ years of Business Analyst or similar experience
  • 2+ years in the Health Insurance Industry
  • Knowledge and/or experience with EDI transactions and flows
  • Knowledge and/or experience with insurance claims/billing/policy systems
  • Knowledge and/or experience with clearing house/billing operations
